New Goodies In

I have recently bought a little bit of fabric :) Most of it is from the states but I got some small pieces at the local Patchwork shop. She has some lovely stuff just a bit exxy that is all.  I also bought a couple of pieces of fine seer sucker I have never used it before and dont even know if it would be suitable for patchwork it is 100% cotton but who knows anyway I liked it so I got it.  A lot of these fabrics are way out of my comfort zone they are fabrics I would not normally look at but I thought it was time to expand my horizons not sure that I would ever use it in something for my own home but tastes change I still like all the stuff I usually have just diversifiying that is all :)

All these to here were purchased from the USA

These are 1/2 meter peices from the local P/Work Shop.

This is the seersucker

Also my son bought me the three precut packs for my Birthday. They came from spotlight and each pack has a 2 yard piece of backing fabric and 5 or 6 1/4 yard pieces and a pattern pamplet to make a small quilt. Once again fabrics way out of my comfort zone but I kind of liked them. I think I am just a fabric collector. :) I don't know if any of it will ever make it's way into a quilt or a project :~

  1. I positively LOVE the third pre-cut pack. :) I have to step away from my comfort zone too, colour-wise because I'm such a neutral type of gal. Oh and solids. I'm sooooo not a print gal. But I'm getting better! :D

  2. Lots of yummy stuff there Liv! I absolutely LUV the owl fabric on the right. I was looking at owl fabrics yesterday but nothing as gorgeous as that one. :)
I have the same problem as you, with the layer cakes I bought- not sure what to make, most prints are lovely but then there are a few which i wouldn't have chosen but as they are put together by Moda I guess they have more experience with what goes with what??? Taking me out of my comfort zone and making me rethink- oh well before I started patchwork/quilting, I would not have even considered putting stripes/checks/florals together. Enjoy all of your lovely goodies-you deserve nice things. :)

  3. Oh what a lovely selection Olivia! I especially like the seersuckers. I'm looking forward to buying fabrics like that to make dresses for my granddaughter next summer. I can't wait to see what you make with these gorgeous fabrics. Come on, you have to use them, you can't keep swooning forever. Out with the rotary cutter :)
